The Little Traverse has established more than 100 nature preserves in Emmet, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Mackinac and Chippewa counties, each open to the public at no charge. Many have nature trails for hiking, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. Beach access is also available, as well as birdwatching, fishing and similar low-impact activities. HUNTING IS ALLOWED ONLY ON DESIGNATED PRESERVES AND WITH WRITTEN PERMISSION ONLY. A guide to our preserves is available by phoning or writing.
