Snowmobiling is one of Northwestern Michigan’s most popular winter activities. Exploring hundreds of miles of inter-connecting trail systems with family and friends is a popular afternoon or weekend activity. Thousands of miles of snowmobile trails are maintained and groomed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), local organizations, and snowmobile clubs, affording snowmobilers access to some of the state’s most scenic and national forest lands.
